This past weekend I was blessed to serve as a spiritual director on the Gulf Coast Emmaus weekend in Fort Myers, Fl. It was an amazing blessing.
If you have never had the opportunity to be attend a three-day movement such as Tres Dias, Walk to Emmaus, Cursillo, etc. then I highly recommend that you look into it. I originally attended a Tres Dias weekend about 15 years ago and it changed my life.
This weekend, the Holy Spirit transformed these men and they will never be the same. He always shows up and meets each of us exactly where we are. I have never seen anything else like it.
This was my first opportunity to serve on an Emmaus weekend and it was a real blessing for me. I was able to connect with the guys in a really special way. Additionally, the spiritual directors all really bonded in a special way. I was serving with four other spiritual directors - each of whom really blessed me in a unique and special way.
In addition to all the spiritual work being done on the weekend, we also took time out for some humor. You can see a “serious” picture of me from the weekend that was taken by one of the other spiritual directors. Typically cameras are not allowed on the weekend (and you can see why from this picture). However this was taken with a cell phone.
God does some amazing things on these weekends.
