Vision

The vision that God has given to Friends Across The Water is:

Reaching the unreached peoples of the world by mobilizing ocean cruisers to start church planting movements via the catalyst of Biblical storytelling.

Unreached Peoples

A people group in which less than 2% of the population are Evangelical Christians.

People Group

A homogeneous group of individuals, families, and clans sharing a common language and sense of ethnic identity.

Evangelical Christian

A person who believes that Jesus Christ is the sole source of salvation through faith in Him, has personal faith and conversion with regeneration by the Holy Spirit, recognizes the inspired word of God as the only basis for faith and Christian living, and is committed to Biblical preaching and evangelism that brings others to faith in Jesus Christ.

Mobilization

The act of assembling and making both troops and supplies ready for war. A missions mobilizer is a Christian who not only wants to get involved in evangelism and missions work but who wants to get other people involved as well. This is in obedience to the Great Commission and to the words in 2 Timothy where it says, ?And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others? (2 Tim. 2:2).

Cruisers

Individuals and families who live on small, ocean going vessels [typically 30-70 foot in length] who travel the world’s oceans.

Church Planting Movement

A rapid and multiplicative increase of indigenous churches planting churches within a given people group.

Biblical Storytelling

A non-literary method of communicating the gospel to a people by relating to them, in a culturally suitable manner, the great stories of the Bible from creation to redemption to the return of Christ.
